InkRepublic.com - Knowledge Base Q: How do I install and reset R280, 1400, R1900, R2880 new chipsets?
The NEW chipset can let you reset ink levels anytime you want (you can reset ink level before big printing project so you can estimate the ink usage and when you need to reset them!) and can let you reset all colors at once to save more inks
and time! When you reset one color, others will be reset at the same time!
You do NOT have to reset them one by one when any of them goes down to empty. This is the most advanced chipset for Epson's printers.
Other CISS use Epson's chipset algorithm which would resolve you waste so much more inks during chipset resetting and cleaning cycles. InkRepublic is the first one & the only one providing this new chipset to our clients.
For the normal operation:
1. The SW1 on the new 1400, R280, R1900, R2880 chipsets must be on the right position.
2. The SW2 on the new 1400, R280, R1900, R2880 chipsets must be on the left position.
To reset ink levels:
1.Press the "change ink button" until the cartridge housing moves to the replacing ink cartridge position. (Please refer to original printer operation manual)
2.Shift SW1 from right to the left and SW2 from left to the right.
3.Press the "change ink button" again.
4.You may see the LED light on the Yellow color (or the color on the left hand side) is off and other colors' are all turned on.
5.Press the "change ink button" again, and repeat this step a couple times until you see Yellow's LED and other 3 colors are turned on.
6.Flip SW1 from left to right and SW2 from right to left back to normal operation positions. Press the change ink button to move housing back to the printing position.
