Q: Where can I find the manufacture date of my printer?

There is a thin paper strip to the right of the serial number or bottom of printer which has 19 letters and digits.
The year of manufacture is the SEVENTH digit from the right -
For example:
5=2005
6=2006
7=2007
The month is the SIXTH digit from the right -
For example:
1=January
2=February
0=October
Y/X=November
J=December
The following two digits are the day of the month (01 for the first day of month, 28 for the 28th, 30 for the 30th etc.)
The rest digits are the unit of the day. For example, 107 stands for the 107th printer from today's batch.
For example if your printer has "XXXXXXXXXXX6324107", it is the 107th unit from March 24th, 2006
Note:
Printer manufacture has changed several different generations of chip codes for
R260, R380, RX580 series. The first generation is back to the release date to
Feb 2007, 2nd generation is from March 2007 to July 2007, then Aug 2007 till now. They
will keep changing the chip codes as soon as they move to the next batch.
They make the same modification on 1400 series too. So far, 1400 has two
different chip codes.
InkRepublic has been spending a lot of time on working around this technical issue from 2006.
At this point, our chipset covers all the modifications. We have been shipping quite a lot of R260/R380/RX580 and 1400 system
from May 2007, so far, our users have not reported any incompatible issues.
All the printers, new and old, can recognize our latest chipsets.
Currently if you have our R260 ink system and plan to get newer batch of R260 printer in the near future,
you can request a set of free & new chipset holder from us. This way, You will be able to keep using the same dampers and components with the new printer.
