Artisan 50 Inks vs. The Refrigerator!
The highest honor any photograph can receive is being placed on someone's refrigerator. I have
received that honor several times in my life. However, it is a greatly muted when I see that the
inks from my inkjet have faded over time.
The fades happened way back with my Epson 1280 with Epson inks. It was much improved with the Epson 220
but the ink cost was too high. Then I switched to the InkRepublic dye inks and though the price
was right the fade was back. I considered switching to the pigment inks but I couldn't stand the
thought that the 'snap' that my dye inks delivered would be sacrificed to the longevity of the pigment inks.
Next, I started out a new Epson 280 with the InkRepublic dye inks and while they looked great they faded
on the refrigerator test. When my 280 died, I got an Epson Artisan 50 which is the same machine and
the inks faded as quickly.
Then I discovered the InkRepublic Artisan Inks. I got 'em in, purged my old inks, and got the Artisan
inks going. After calibrating the 'snap' was still there and the prints looked great. I set up a print
for the acid test - the refrigerator.
It's been up for 9 months now and still looks great! I put another copy outside in the sun and the UV
rays got to it in a couple weeks, so it's not perfect, but must refrigerators don't get that much
direct sunlight.
The InkRepublic Artisan inks with the Epson Artisan are a great combination! That and I can print
forever very cheaply with the InkRepublic continuous inking system.
Thank you InkRepublic for a great product!
