InkRepublic.com - Review of InkRepublic WorkForce 1100 i-INK2 CIS System

I had been pondering getting a CISS system for a couple of months as our business requires brochures for POP materials and because of the personalized nature for each dealership we work with, using the printing companies would be cost prohibitive.
Like most people, I investigated all I could via the internet and found the usual mix of some good companies and those that were not rated very well. Three companies stood out one of which was Ink Republic of which I contacted and tried their system for the Epson Workforce 1100.
Not being well versed on the mechanics of the CISS, it was a great help when Amanda in their customer relations dept spent a great deal of time helping us get it right. After experimenting with several tube configurations and working through a few teething problems, the system with the 1100 all came together.
It works very well. We have used it extensively for the past few weeks without issue other than the occasional resetting of the chips. There has been no clogging and the colors on the brochures are vivid with sharp resolution and as of this time, no banding.
We have purchased several printers of which the latest is the Epson 835. We took the time to compare the results between the 1100 with the Ink Republic CISS and the 835 with Epson's Claria ink using 6 colors. It is actually not a fair comparison as the 1100 uses the basic 3 color with black system. The 835 using the 5 color with black Claria ink should have blown the 1100 away. It didn’t. While the prints from the 835 did come out better it was not enough to make a difference. We found ourselves splitting hairs in separating the two. One has to look very carefully to notice the difference which says a lot for IR’s system. We of course will be using the IR system for the 835 once the Epson cartridges run dry, which based upon our comparison with the 1100, should easily equal the Epson ink.
In any business where there is a commodity that is in high demand, one will find that there will be many new companies which of course have the same core suppliers for their products and what differentiates who you want to do business with is determined by the company's ethics, professionalism and its desire to go beyond what is normal to be sure that their customer base is completely satisfied. Our experience with Ink Republic has been just that which insures we will be doing business with them for a very long time.
